Giving Back - The Food Bank of North Alabama 2022

March’s Subaru Love Promise revolved around the meaning of the International Day of Happiness. This day is celebrated globally by reminding us to celebrate happiness. Spreading happiness is contagious, it can be something as simple as a thank you, a smile, checking in on a neighbor, volunteering in your community.
We decided to do a food collection benefiting the Food Bank of North Alabama. The mission of the Food Bank is to feed the hungry and create solutions that will end hunger tomorrow. This is accomplished by supplying 13 million pounds of food a year to a network of over 200 food pantries, shelters and children’s programs in 11 counties of North Alabama. Together they feed over 80,000 people at risk of hunger annually.
A donation box was set up at Landers McLarty Subaru. Since they were having a St. Patrick’s Day event, it only made sense to set up the box as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
I reached out to my mailman, neighbors and friends. Ambassadors Nikki, Johnny, Lou and myself also made donations. There was enough food donated that it filled the cargo area of the Forester and half the backseat!
Total collection was 381 pounds!!
