Photos - Colliers Mills WMA CleanUP
On April 30th, 2022, MtnRoo TriState and friends from MtnRoo New England and Subaru of America embarked on another forest cleanup. After scouting and setting up camp on Friday, forty three of us headed out Saturday and Sunday to clean up Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area, while also having some fun on the trails.
Forty three of us in around three dozen cars spent the weekend removing tons of trash from Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area. We found dozens of tires, a couple tons of furniture and car parts and enough bottles and cans to keep the recycling team busy for a while.
When we finished for the weekend, we’d removed a whopping 8,402 pounds of trash from the forest, while also having some fun on the trails!!!

NOTE:
For those of you familiar with the area, you may notice that we were in “No Vehicles – Authorized Use Only” areas. These areas were hand-picked by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, for us to clean up, and we had Special Use permits to be in those areas and the surrounding trails, including with our vehicles and trailers, so we could scout, clean up, and use the trailers to move trash out. Please remember, always follow trail etiquette and regulations, and only drive on designated and open motor vehicle trails, or with Special Use permits to do so. And please, pack in, pack out, so you leave no trace.
